Where can I find some Legitimate Mystery Shopping companies in Houston?

Links and local numbers would be great also I would love to hear feedback from actual houston mystery shoppers and what the process is. I seen some that say you have to pay a fee but I dont trust any job that makes you pay for it first.

There are some legit companies that will hire you as an independent contractor, and give your shopping or movie going assignment and etc…

However, you do have to provide them your SSN for income tax purpose, and you WILL be hit with estimated tax, and your full portion of medicaid and social security tax for your fairly small shopping reimbursement.

In the past, I found dealing with 1099 and estimated tax to be a pin in the b*tt. Is trivial gig-like activities like mystery shopping worth looking into?

What exactly do you get reimbursed for? Is it just the stuffs you buy or do they also pay mileage, or bonus or etc?

This question is for anybody that is doing the Mystery Shopping Job how can you tell from the Scams and the Real ones i know there is this one Scam when they send you a fake Check for like 3,000 i got one today i ask somebody at Shadow Shoppers.com and they said throw the check in the Trash because they don’t send you checks

What about the ones you have to pay to sign up or those scams i heard they were not. the the ones that send you checks or

Without getting suckered by a company to pay a fee. I know a girl who did it for a little bit but she wasn’t able to do it and work full time because they were very specific about their needs-like you had to go to Burger King for breakfast and stores a very specific times. She said there where no sign up fees and she originally found them in the newspaper. She did a few jobs for them and got paid but she said they didn’t have a lot of work they could offer her.

I have also heard of people paying $30.00 member fee and getting scammed out of $3,000 after give the website their credit info.

I was interested in this because I need a job for some extra cash and I already do comparison shopping for the job I am at and have to do things like reports on how the traffic walks through the store and how many people past this rack and how assessable it is.

I recv’d a check for a mystery shopping job that I signed up for. The check was for a large amount of money

so, b4 i deposited it, i had my bank verify it. They did & told me it was a good check. The next day, I found out I had to have the cash in hand to work with so, I went back to the bank to w/draw it. I got the money, done what my assignment told me to do and the day after that, my bank notifies me that it was a bad check after all so, to get their money back, they wiped out my checking and savings and told me that I still owe them money. How can this be if they told me in the beginning it was a good check? Do I stand any chance if I was to try and sue them? I need any advice I can get! Thanks.

can you actually earn up to $5000 a month just by mystery shopping? How much do you actually get paid?

I recently responded to a newspaper ad seeking mystery shoppers. The company, Zenith Consulting, sent back a form e-mail a few days later with details on the job and a request for confirmation of address, phone number, etc. I haven’t responded yet whether or not I’ll take them up on the job. In fact, I won’t respond till I know whether or not Zenith Consulting is a scam operation or if all mystery shopping services are scams. Anybody out there work for Zenith or any of these other outfits?

i signed up on the site they sent me a cashier’s check for 4,880 ($500 for my efforts, $50 for walmart, $40 for gap, $2700 western union transfer*$140 charge, $1400 moneygram trasfer *$50 charge) I called they said when the check clears then i begin the shopping and i have 5 copies of this customer evalution papers that i have to fax to them with receipt anyways i heard some of these are scams but i don’t have to send the money orders until the check is 100%in my bank account . you think there is still a way i can get scammed? I am not doing any money order if the money is not in my account.
Please answer if you have experience mystery shopping. more details: the company is located in canada, this is only training i am not an employee yet, i have 36 hours to complete my assignment AFTER THE money is available and they’re going to give me contact info on who to send the money order to
so it wouldn’t hurt if i just didn’t send the money until i knew if it was real or not.. i thought if the check cleared it cleared. im not sending them anything regardless

I have seen many companies offering mystery shopping jobs, but they require you to pay to get them. I don’t believe in paying to get a job. Anybody know a good reputable company where I can become a legit mystery shopper?
