It all depends on where you live and if the company has clients in that area. MD is right, if you don't pay attention to detail, the company might reject your shop. However, I don't think its fair to say mystery shopping is not worth it. I live in the Los Angeles area and there are lots of shops to be done with several different companies. I set up routes and do a lot in one day. It makes it both profitable and fun.

However, you need to be able to write reports that read well and are grammatically correct. Based on the text of your question, you might have to practice a bit before getting a job with a mystery shopping company.

I don't know of any companies that hire shoppers to give money to good employees. Maybe it was a representative of the McDonalds corporation that visited you that day.

Doing Mystery Shopping for a legitimate organization in theory sounds like fun, but there is a lot of paperwork to do, you must fit certain demographics and the compensation is rarely worth it. If you miss information in your report, you will be docked a portion of your compensation. In many cases you will be required to do purchases and later do a return. This means two separate trips to the store, consider the value of your time as well as the gas involved. If you could shop at places that you would normally shop it's not a waste - but the variety of stores is huge, it's likely that you will be interested in only a few of them. Restaurants are another story - because we all have to eat :) but some of the restaurants are quite out of the way and there are comparatively few restaurant opportunities.
