While it’s true that some of these companies are complete scammers, most of them are legitimate. Just make sure you don’t have to PAY anything to start. There is no reason to have to pay to become a mystery shopper.
Also, some companies will offer to send you ‘checks’ ahead of time to do your shopping, which can lead to confusion and bookkeeping headaches.
The advantage of becoming a mystery shopper online is that you can do so from your home. Most of these companies will pay anywhere from $5 – $10 per hour.
